Privacy Policy and Terms of Use - LocalRideApp
Welcome to LocalRideApp! Your privacy is important to us. By using our app, you agree to the practices outlined in this policy.
Note: LocalRideApp is available worldwide, but certain features such as pricing, currency (₹), and service availability are primarily designed for users in India.
Authentication is required to use the app. Users must be logged in to access passenger or driver features, except for password reset.
Information We Collect
We collect personal information for both passengers and drivers, including name, phone number, email address, and avatar data. For drivers, we also collect vehicle number and driving license information. We verify only the email address provided by the driver at the time of registration. We do not verify any other data at this time. Email verification is performed via a secure verification link using Firebase services. Your email address is stored in our database and used for password reset and basic functionality.
For security and abuse prevention, we may store limited technical information related to signup activity, such as a non-personal device identifier and the number and timing of signup attempts. This data is stored in our database and used for abuse prevention checks and basic functionality.
We collect your device’s location only during ride-related actions such as booking, accepting, starting, or updating a ride.
Our app uses Firebase (Auth, Database, Messaging) and Google Maps services to operate accounts, store data, and show ride locations.
Advertising Services
LocalRideApp may use third-party advertising services to display ads. If ads are shown, these services may collect limited information such as basic app usage data to provide and improve advertisements, in accordance with the privacy policies of those advertising partners.
Appear on top Permission
LocalRideApp uses the “Appear on top” (Draw Over Other Apps) permission to display a small floating bubble when the app is minimized. This bubble is used only as a quick shortcut to return to the app. It does not collect, record, store, or transmit any user data. Users can disable this permission anytime from system settings.
Ride Usage
All rides are taken at your own risk. LocalRideApp is not responsible for any accidents, damages, losses, or death during your rides. Drivers must start the ride only at or near the pickup location; starting a ride incorrectly may cause inaccurate tracking, fare issues, or unexpected behavior. Rides must be ended by the driver pressing the "End Ride" button; passengers can request this after completing the ride. Both passenger and driver share responsibility for properly ending rides.
Ride notifications are sent for each individual ride when a driver accepts, starts, or ends it. Both passenger and driver receive notifications for every ride update, including cancellations from either side. The system may also send updates related to payments, dues clearance, account notices, and other important information not linked to a specific ride.
Drivers may incur small internal operational dues as part of the service system. After completing every 20 successful rides, a “Clear your dues” button will appear, allowing drivers to settle their pending operational balance.
No cancellation charges are currently applied for either passengers or drivers. All ride activities are based on mutual agreement between both parties.
Pending rides that are not completed may be cleared at an unspecified time, and the exact timing is not guaranteed.
Repeated or excessive ride cancellations may lead to temporary or permanent account blocking to maintain fair usage and service reliability.
Platform Role Clarification
LocalRideApp is a technology platform that facilitates communication and ride coordination between independent users. We do not own, operate, lease, or control any vehicles, and we do not employ drivers. Drivers using the platform act independently and are not agents, employees, or representatives of LocalRideApp. We do not supervise, direct, or control driving behavior, ride execution, or vehicle conditions.
Account Deletion
When you press the Delete button inside the app, the information stored under your UID path folder is removed, followed by the deletion of your authentication account. Ride records involving more than one party (driver and passenger) may be retained, as they are part of both users ride history.
For security and abuse prevention, certain non-personal technical records (such as device-based signup attempt counts) may be retained even after account deletion.
Cookies
If applicable, our app may use standard local storage or similar technologies to support basic functionality and improve user experience.
Disclaimer
LocalRideApp does not provide refunds for rides. We are not responsible for any issues, including but not limited to app crashes, internet problems, device errors, or any other technical faults. No system is perfect, and users accept this by using the app.
LocalRideApp does not provide refunds for any in-app purchases. All transactions are final, and no refunds will be issued for disputes, accidental purchases, or unused services.
Service availability is not guaranteed, and LocalRideApp may experience downtime or interruptions.
We are also not responsible for any person misusing or impersonating the app for personal or illegal purposes. Please do not share your password with anyone or share sensitive personal information over chat to protect your account and privacy.
LocalRideApp is not affiliated with any government authority or transport agency.
You are responsible for your actions during the use of the app. We reserve the right to refuse service or delete accounts that violate our policies. All policies may change at any time without prior notice.
Using the app means you accept our terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app.
